F-1132 Rust remover on carbon steel

A piece of scrap metal was selected to represent real world situation. The plate had been left outside for about a year without any protection, see picture.

For this test we use soaking method, F-1132 can also be applied by brush, spray, rag etc to best suit your situation. Note that all F-1132 must be washed away from the substrate and surroundings after treatment is complete. This is an acid based product and proper PPE must be used.

After soaking is completed it is important to rinse all remaining rust remover away from substrate as remaining acid may cuase damage to the steel. This picture was taken without any agitation of the metal only flushing with domestic water (not high pressure). Tp protect the steel from "blooming" (turning red) we sprayed on a thin film of Eurolube F-1110 degreaser after flushing, the corrosion inhibitor provides protection while its alkalanity neutralizes and remaining acid.

F-1132 can be used to restore stainless steel that has been contaiminated by salt, carbon steel or other contaminants causing discoloration or corrosion. For this sample we used a shower head of SS3044

The rust remover will etch away foreign contamination and passify the surface of the stainless steel. Reaction is visible by foaming

After cleaning is completed it is important to flsuh thestainless steel in fresh water. Care should be taken to maintain low Cl contant as per industry standards. No agitation was made during this test, only fresh water flushing.
